At the start of the 1940s, in the Grao market, a market in the port district of Valencia, there was a small meat stall of renown: the 'Tocinería Félix'. Its owner, Félix Lurbe Madrid, born in Domeño in 1917, arrived in Grao at the age of 13 with a desire to build a future for himself. After the end of the war and after many ups and downs, in 1942 he set up himself up in the meat business, which he knew so well.
In 1973, his eldest son Félix Lurbe Pérez, began to work with his father and, what began as providing some help, ended up being a full time dedication. Five years later, he founded the company ``CARFE, S.A.``, whose acronym was Carnes Félix, in memory of his father. In 1980 his brother Juan started working with him.

Carnes Félix began with a stall in the Grao market, run by Félix Lurbe Madrid, where his children, Félix, Juan and Lola, would later work during different periods. Lola was the one who, until 1996, during her later years at the shop, would maintain the personal treatment that was always her hallmark.

The company continued to grow and change its location due to the need for more space. Until in 2000, it was forced to move outside the city, when it changed its name to Carnes Félix, S.A., always with that touch of nostalgia. At present, the grandchildren of Félix Lurbe Madrid work in the company that they have seen grow since they were very young.
